Time Warner Cable News is proud to announce a new program designed to honor, highlight and celebrate the best "Scholar Athletes" in our local high schools.
Each week during the school year, we choose one scholar athlete for a profile that will be seen on Time Warner Cable News, TWCNews.com and Local on Demand - channel 1020. Those athletes will also be featured in a year-end special honoring all the athletes.
All nominations are to be made directly from school administrators or athletic directors.
It's not unusual to see McQuaid Jesuit senior David Ingraham studying, even at track meets.
The sprinter with a 96.5 GPA made All-American at indoor nationals and as captain, led his team to a Section V title this year.
For setting a good example. David is McQuaid honor counsel co-leader and a National Honor Society inductee.
David volunteers at Saint's Place, Habitat for Humanity, and he ran track practices for kids from the YMCA.
David brings his drive to succeed to Amherst College this fall, to study neuroscience and sprint for the track team.
