At the University of Rochester on Friday, Kathy Rideout was officially installed as the Dean of the School of Nursing.

After a year working as interim dean, Rideout was named Dean in August 2012.

In her address, Rideout spoke about changes ahead for the School of Nursing, innovative programs on the horizon, models of care and research areas of focus.

She's known in the School of Nursing for her dedication to the progression of nursing students.

The new capital campaign, part of the university's Meliora Challenge, seeks to raise $25 million to be able to support the school's mission.

"Our mission is that we always doing, whether it's our research or in our education, what we can do to improve the care that we provide patients. It's always about the patient. So no matter what we're doing, what we're teaching, what we're discovering, it really is to improve the care that we're providing," Rideout said.
