The Rochester community took some time Mondayto celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Hundreds of people turned out for the annual interfaith service at the Eastman Theatre. The more than two-hour community worship program featured music, dialogue, celebration and joy in honor of King and his efforts for racial equality.

Rochester's spiritual leaders challenged everyone to find and do something to make a difference for the better. Many of the messages mentioned diversity, and that it is not only a strength but an opportunity.

One of the speakers said that there is never a wrong time to do the right thing.

"Not just today, but everyday think about the message that he left with us about coming together, united as one and making America and making the world a better place to live in," said Rev. Ruben Goff of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Dr. Paul Burgett, Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President of the University of Rochester, delivered Dr. King's celebration message.
