  • Text size: + -

A Rochester City School District physical education teacher has been arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with a child.

Police charged Matthew LoMaglio, 36, of Irondequoit, with sexual contact against a child and endangering the welfare of a child for alleged incidents involving a student five years ago.

Police said LoMaglio is accused of multiple acts with a child under 11 years old. Police said the incidents happened during the 2006-2007 school year.

The Rochester City School District confirmed LoMaglio worked at School 19 at the time of the alleged incidents. The district said he has been working at another school since April when the district learned of the investigation.

LoMaglio was arraigned on the charges last week and will return to court on Tuesday.
