A large barn burned to the ground in Wyoming County Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters got to the burning barn fire in Attica around 3 o'clock where flames were already through the loft and at the roof.

A second alarm was called to tank in extra water since there wasn't any at the house.

Firefighters say the wood was very old which made it such a fast-burning fire, and the doors were open, which fueled it.

"When I got on scene, there was a small amount of fire coming through the floor from the basement area. When the first trucks got here, there was fire up through the loft area," said Attica Fire Chief Robert Willard.

The barn was home to two horses, who were not injured in the fire.

The horses were out in the pasture while the barn burned down. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
