The Batavia High School senior killed in a crash last weekend was laid to rest Wednesday morning.

The funeral for Collin Crane was held at the H.E. Turner and Company Funeral Home in Batavia.

The 17-year-old was killed when he crossed the center line on Route 33 in Stafford Saturday night, and crashed head on with another car.

On Tuesday, family and friends held a candlelight vigil in Crane's honor. He was beloved by his friends, who say his kindness and helpfulness made people happy.

"He was a really funny kid. He would try to make everybody laugh, he would try to make you smile. He was just there for anybody who needed him, even if you didn't know him."

The other driver in the crash, 49-year-old Carmen Vega, remains at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
