A suspected bank robber was arrested Tuesday by a police officer on his way to the scene.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office, the suspect walked into the First Niagara bank on North Seneca Street in Weedsport on Tuesday morning, demanded cash, and told the teller he had a gun.
A Weedsport police officer was en route to the bank when he saw a man matching the suspect description.
Michael Burr, 64, was taken into custody. Police say he didn't end up having a gun, but he did have the stolen cash.
He was charged with felony robbery.
