A street on the west side of Rochester was closed for a while Thursday afternoon to keep people in the area safe.
Rochester police were called to a home on Appleton Street around 1 p.m. when a woman refused the City Marshal's eviction request.
Rochester police said they are frequently called in to assist.
"The City Marshal, from time to time, when they have issues, when they're doing the evictions, that people don't want to follow direction, they typically call us and we assist with the eviction process," explained Lieutenant Sam Farina of the Rochester Police Department.
According to police, the woman wanted to be arrested to make a point. They said she has some health problems and was taken to Highland Hospital for treatment.
